About us (or at least about Jim)

With over 25 years of experience in industrial and commercial project management, Jim is the driving force behind Methodology Man Ltd, a UK-based firm specialising in industrial equipment installation, factory and office builds and contractor management. A certified PMP and PRINCE2 Practitioner, Jim brings a deep understanding of project lifecycles, risk management, and efficiency across diverse deliverables including IT(hardware/software), construction, plant and equipment, HSE improvement notices, complience and more.

Jim’s approach is straightforward: a down-to-earth, results-driven leader who believes in enabling teams and stakeholders to thrive. Drawing inspiration from his years of international work—ranging from the UAE to China—Jim compares his role to that of a band's tour manager: logistics, coordination, and a hands-on approach to making things happen.

As a project manager, Jim is known for his commitment to safety and efficiency, ensuring requirements are reviewed, expectations are managed and risks/opportunities are identified. He’s also an advocate for using technology to enhance communication and clarity, from creating training videos to leveraging drone photography for site videos that show stakeholders exactly where their money is being spent.

Outside of work, Jim enjoys travelling, both for work and leisure, and has a particular fondness for exploring different cultures. He is also a dedicated music fan, with a special place in his heart for hard rock/metal  and hip hop. Jim regularly attends concerts with his family, including some of his all-time favourite bands, and has seen countless iconic shows throughout his life. His love for music is a big part of his life and influences his work, too—blending rhythm and energy into everything he does.

Jim’s love for adventure extends to the outdoors, where he enjoys kayaking and paddleboarding with his family and their two dogs in  scenic surroundings. A fan of CAD design and Onshape, Jim has even passed on his passion to his daughter,who at a young age  has already made her mark in sound engineering and live event management.

Above all, Jim believes in helping others succeed. He’s passionate about networking and assisting his contacts in finding more new oppertunities, knowing that the karma will come back in time...
